Our Classroom Community

Our Classroom will use a clip chart to monitor behavior. A clip chart is a great tool that allows students to be rewarded for positive behavior, while discouraging negative behavior.

Each student will have a clip with his/her name on it.  That clip will start on the green circle of the “Clip chart” each day.  Every time a student has to move his/her clip, the reward/consequence that corresponds to that color will be given.

If You Choose to Break a Rule:

  • First time: Clip down to yellow (Think about it)

  • Second Time: Clip down to orange (Teacher’s choice) resulting in a loss of some recess and/or freechoice.

  • Third Time: Clip down to red (Parent Contact) resulting in loss of all privileges in addition to recess and a phone call home.

I always try to catch the good behavior too!

  • First time: Clip up to blue (Good Choices)
    receiving a POPS slip.

  • Second Time: Clip up to purple (Great job)
    receiving an additional POPS slip.

  • Third Time: Clip up to pink (Super student)
    receiving a third POPS slip.

Remember to check your students Take-Home

folder for their behavior calendar.
